ARTSPACE WOOLLOOMOOLOO
Built in the early 20th century, the historic Gunnery building had previously served as a warehouse and naval facility before becoming a home to Artspace in 1992.
This project involved adaptive re-use of the heritage-listed Gunnery building for Artspace, to create an agile cultural hub for the production and presentation of contemporary art.
The transformation included expanded gallery spaces over three floors, a sound-proofed 250sqm multipurpose performance space, an accessible archive, offices, a catering kitchen, a production workshop, as well as ten studios for working artists.
JHA provided multidisciplinary building services for this project.
